The links below outline the current legislation as it applies to outdoor access and provides clear guidance for campervans, camping and wild camping.  Wild camping is not pitching a tent beside the road. The code says that tents should be pitched away from roads, buildings and agricultural holdings. Posters can be downloaded to educate campers with regard to their waste and interaction with the environment.

This guidance has been developed in partnership by the Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers, the Professional Association of Self-Caterers, and the Wales Tourism Alliance. It is supported by the Tourism Alliance, the Scottish Tourism Alliance and the Wales Association of Self-Catering Operators.
