Highland Council Guidance
Coronavirus: support for Highland businesses
Highland Council has created a guide to provide advice and support to shops, leisure facilities and other businesses likely to experience an upsurge in visitor numbers as lockdown restrictions are eased.
COVID-19 Scams
The Highland Council is warning of various scams that are circulating at the moment. One scam involves receiving a text message which states that grants of £1500 are now available to individuals who need support during the pandemic. It asks the recipient to click on a link to check eligibility, gov.crisis-grant.com. This is not an official site and recipients are asked to delete the message from their device.
There have been reports from Scottish consumers about cold callers who say that you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 and ask you to pay £500 to take a test. Genuine contact tracers will NEVER ask you for any financial details or ask you to make a payment.
