Covid-19 – facemasks/sanitiser

Updated: Aug 1, 2020

As we move from phase 2 to 3 of easing lockdown, guidance on how to keep safe is changing quickly. One of the major changes concerns face masks, with anyone going inside a shop from 10th July onwards being required to wear a face covering. Good hand hygiene is also essential, especially with an increase in visitors to the area. Whilst many businesses will have hand sanitiser stations at the door, we believe residents and visitors should take responsibility for themselves.

Face coverings and 500ml hand sanitiser bottles are available free of charge from Torridon and Kinlochewe Community Council. We are providing these to residents on a first come – first served basis.

To request hand sanitiser and/or a face covering, please email your name and address to TKCCCOVID19@gmail.com. The items will be delivered to your door by the community car scheme.

This support has been funded by HIE’s Supporting Communities Fund, and we are keen to ensure everyone has a chance to benefit. So if you know someone who could benefit but who does not use email, please contact them and reply on their behalf.

It’s also great that local volunteers are making face coverings for their friends/families/neighbours. Why not nominate them for a local hero award for all their hard work? You can nominate anyone on TKCCCOVID19@gmail.com, and please don’t assume someone else has nominated the person you think deserves a big thank you.

For the latest Covid-19 guidance, there is information on this government site:
